Ianthe was an Oceanid — one of the three thousand daughters of the sea, whose name means "violet flower." She was a companion of Persephone, gathering flowers in the meadow on the day the earth opened and the seasons began.
She was not a goddess of great power, but of small, perfect things. The flower found in the grass. The moment before everything changes.
