The Daphne Gouri

The Daphne Gouri is a good luck charm ("Gouri" in Greek).

The Gouri is a traditional Greek New Year's gift, a symbolic gift exchanged between friends, lovers & family members, wishing the recipient good luck in the New Year.

  

On the Daphne Gouri you can see two branches of laurel engraved. Since Antiquity, the laurel wreath has been regarded as a powerful symbol of victory and is said to have been the forerunner of the crown itself.
