Athena was the Goddess of reason, wisdom and warfare.
According to most traditions, she was born from Zeus's forehead, fully formed and armored. Athena was portrayed as having a calm temperament and was believed to only fight for just causes and never fight without a purpose. She is the patron goddess of the city of Athens in Greece (which was named after her). She is the protector of the city of Athens. In ancient Greek literature, Athena is portrayed as the astute companion of heroes and as the patron goddess of heroic endeavour.
You can see the face of Athena hand carved on the top part of the ring. One side of the coin is like eaten by time and gives to the coin an irregular shape.
